I have been having a blast creating with the fun birthday sets! My only regret this month, is not having more time to create, so many ideas and so little time.

My first card features Humorous Birthday Innies and Make a Wish. I know, the innies are meant for the inside of cards but I confess, I prefer to use them on the outside.

I started by stamping the smaller candle on white cardstock with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and coloring them with Arteza Real Brush Markers. Once dry, I hand trimmed them out and set aside. I  attached a happy birthday washi tape to the front of a piece of bashful blue cardstock and cut with a crimped frame die. Next, I stamped the sentiment with the same ink as the candles. Finally, I glued the candles to the front and attached the blue panel to a white base.

For my second card, I decided to play with A Little Snarky, Humorous Birthday Innies and Messy Stamped Alpha. Originally, I had a different background planned and when I attempted it it didn't look right. I was thrilled, when I came up with the idea of the numbers because it works perfectly with the sentiment.

I began by using the numbers from the alpa set and starting in the center of the white cardstock stamped the numbers in a spiral pattern and cut with a stitched rectangle die. Then, I ink blended the background with Buttercup, Sprout and Aqua Sky inks (C&9th). I stamped the sentiment on kraft and girl on white with VersFine Clair Nocturne ink. I colored the girl's hair, skin and lips with Arteza Real Brush Pens and her shirt with Marmalade ink (C&9th) and fussy cut out. I assembled the card as seen popping the image up with foam tape.

  6. Karen, I think both of your cards are fabulous!! You've done this release proud! Glad you had patience to colour each candle, cut them out & glue them down as it is so colourful & I think the sentiment on the outside is a perfect place for it too. I think it was good your first background didn't turn out as you really nailed it with all of those ages spaced just right & stamped on the card stock along with that particular sentiment. Really like the colours you used in the background as well.

  9. LOVE your sweet cads using this wonderful new release from Sweet 'n Sassy. LOL - getting a little personal with the whole "calling the fire department" thing, but sadly true at my age. I don't want to burn down the house. Thanks for a good laugh and WONDERFUL inspiration.
    Blessings!
