Back in May, I mentioned my desire to build my stash of guy cards. The new grunge gears stencil from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is perfect for masculine cards.
I started the background by laying down a layer of antique linen distress oxide ink on a white base. Then, I taped the stencil over the top, randomly inked with more distress oxide inks(ground espresso, vintage photo, rusty hinge) and blended until I liked it. I removed the stencil, die cut the panel, added black paint spatters and matted with black. I added brads in the corner and attached to a kraft card base.
I stamped the images with VersaFine Claire Nocturne ink on rust and white cardstock, embossed with black powder and fussy cut out. I inked up the paper image with antique linen and stamped the sentiment on it. Next, I cut a slit in the typewriter, slipped the paper through it and glued in place. I figured out placement of the image and washi tape so I could stamp the other sentiment directly on the panel. Finally, I added the washi tape and popped the image up with foam tape.
