I am having a blast playing and creating with the new stamp of the month set, Summer Fruits! I am loving the sweet images and playful sentiments! I colored and stamped all my images and sentiments with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink on Canson XL Mixed Media paper. I used a combination of Arteza and Altenew watercolor brush pens to color the images.

For my first card, I chose a bright and bold color scheme and utilized a sketch challenge for the layout. The idea for the color scheme came about when I found the pattern paper in my stash. I used white, yo-yo yellow and pixie pink cardstock and double stitched edge dies from Gina Marie Designs. I attached the pattern paper and strip of pink cardstock to the white panel and then die cut out. I like the decorative stitching to show all the way around so this is my preferred method when creating these type of cards.

For my second lemon card, I stuck with a more traditional color combo inspired again by pattern paper. I am just a wee bit sad because this card uses the last piece of this paper. I have used this layout before and love it! I used Kraft cardstock from Michaels and the same double stitched edge dies as above. I die cut the circle from a piece I found in my scrap bin that already had a bit of texture on it from another project.

For my third card, I chose the cherries. I used real red, basic black and white cardstock. I added the washi tape before die cutting with a double stitched edge die and attached the layers. I splattered the circle die cut with black paint, then glued down the cherries and popped the circle up with foam tape. It needed something more so I added some black enamel dots for the finishing touch.

For my last card, I decided to feature the yummy strawberries. I colored this image before I knew what I was going to do with it. So originally the leaves were a much brighter green. I couldn't find any pattern paper in my collection to work with that color green. I did however, come across the piece in the photo and wanted to use it.

I didn't feel like redoing all my work so I did the next best thing. I wet down the brighter green with water and dabbed the color off, repeating until most of it was gone. Then, I colored the leaves again with a green that would coordinate with the paper I wanted to use for the card. Problem solved!

I had every intention of using the coordinating sentiment for the strawberries. Something happened that has never happened to me before, I misplaced the sentiment and can't find it anywhere. I'm pretty sure it's gone, but I'm still holding out hope that it is buried somewhere in the chaos on my desk. So, I used a sentiment from the previously released Friendship is a Blessing.
