Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is having a Christmas in July Sale through July 26th. I decide to create two tropical Christmas cards to celebrate it.
Both my cards were created the same way, just using different colors for the flowers and throwing in a pineapple to mix it up a bit(scroll down for second card and supply list.)
I wanted the background to have a beach vibe to it. I masked off part of my Bristol Smooth paper with post it notes and blended with Antique Linen. I wanted this section to have a little more texture to it. So, I utilized one of the backgrounds in the brand new Texture Tiles 6 and added it to this section with the same ink for a subtle tone on tone look. Then, I flipped the post it notes to cover the brown and ink blended the the top with Aqua Sky then I die cut the panel.
I gold heat embossed the flowers and pineapple on Bristol Smooth paper. I colored them with various waterbrush pens and fussy cut out. Next, I blended Sprout ink onto Bristol Smooth and stamped the small bough multiple times in different directions with Parsley ink to create the base for my images.
I decided on placement of my images so I could determine where the sentiment should go and embossed in gold. I assemble the card as seen using foam tape to pop up the images and added a couple of small gold pearls.
