Sunflowers are my favorite flower! Love them so much! I am super excited for the release of the new Like a Sunflower set this month. Beautiful images with lots of ways to mix and match the sentiments!
When
I first saw the half sunflower image, I immediately knew I wanted to
try to make it into a full sunflower. It worked just like I imagined! I
originally thought it wouldn't fit on an A2 card and was pleasantly
surprised that it did.
I
stamped the images on Canson mixed media paper with VersaFine Clair
nocturne ink. I stamped the first half of the sunflower head, then
cleaned off the stamp repositioning on the other side (lining up as close
as I could) and stamped again. I did have some very minor gaps, so I
used a permanent black marker and filled them in and you can't even
tell.
I colored the flower and leaves with a
combination of Arteza and Altenew watercolor brush markers and fussy cut
out. I dry embossed a piece of Kraft cardstock with a honeycomb folder
and then die cut with a stitched edge die. I stamped the sentiment with
the same ink as the images and hand trimmed the banner ends. I assembled
the card as seen popping up the sunflower with foam tape.
I am linking this card up to the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge , anything goes.
I hope you enjoyed today's card and thanks for stopping by!
Karen
